The Verbulator
WARNING!
---
The Cajun French verb conjugation tool below is a work in progress. It appears to work for regular -er, -ir, and -re verbs. It DOES NOT work with most irregular verbs (yet -- I'm working on it). However, it should be able to generate correct conjugations for être, avoir, aller, and faire. Please alert me if you see any problems with the conjugation of regular verbs.
By using the radio buttons you can specify a pronoun and a tense for the verb you are interested in. The result will appear at the top of the generated page. Following that will be a complete list of the available conjugations for the requested verb.
How this works
The Verbulator (in principle) will take any regular French verb and apply the rules for making the equivalent Cajun French conjugation. It doesn't work from a predetermined list of verbs, so any word that ends in -er, -ir, and -re will get the Verbulator treatment whether they are valid regular French verbs or not, so beware! I'll be working on making the Verbulator more intelligent.
Known Issues
- does not contract pronouns and verbs that start with vowels, e.g. je ai instead of j'ai
- does not handle the input of verbs with accents (just enter the verb using the unaccented version, e.g. "etre" for "être"
- awareness of stem changing verbs is not implemented
